With the latest ideas of the concentric tank concept we might well soon see RAS production of species we would not have thought of. Capital costs as well as operational, are significantly lower than seen before for RAS.

This new concentric tank concept is based on the concept that the tank share a wall with the treatment system. A plant is erected on a flat concrete slab, with less expensive underground pipe work. There is neither any expensive concrete constructions, which at times has been the “killer” in some RAS construction costs.

The fish are handled very easily with movable fish screens in the tank “rings”.  These new systems come as modules and can be transported/erected easily anywhere.
